Homeschool

Holy Sepulchre Church in Jerusalem I knew when my daughter was still a baby that I wanted to educate her at home. My family, however, was unsupportive and it was not until some time later that they would be won over to the idea.

After a bit of trial and error, I chose Classical Education, based on the model used during the Classical period in Greece, which was called The Trivium, or three-fold way. This model is being used more and more widely both by home educators and by private schools, including Orthodox schools.

In establishing our home school, I assembled a web resource presenting our own ideal and providing links for others who are exploring the same path.

Chicago offers a broad array of homeschool support groups and special interest clubs. In addition to our Orthodox Classical studies,  I have opted to provide general Classical courses (Latin, Koiné, History, etc.)  to other homeschool families.  Classes are held at Honeycomb House.
